A starting point.
Use an existing image when its resolution is too small for your intended layout. Topaz enlarges and enhances that source; it does not create a new scene from a written prompt. Begin with the clearest source you have and keep an untouched copy for comparison.
Before you publish.
Compare source and output at the same displayed size, then inspect the output at full size. Look at hair, eyes, lettering and straight edges for invented detail, halos or excessive smoothing. Enhanced detail is not proof that missing information was recovered accurately.
Review the quote before running. A failed generation releases its reserved credits. Download the results you want to keep; stored media is retained for 30 days.
Settings and model questionsCheck the available settings and guidance when preparing your input.
Inputs and settings
Provide the source image using image_url and choose a supported enhancement model. Begin with a modest upscale_factor rather than the largest setting.
A 2x enlargement doubles both width and height, producing four times the source pixel count. A 4x enlargement produces sixteen times the pixels. Request a quote for the resulting output size.
Choose output_format and decide whether to enable face enhancement. Check faces against the source before publishing; face recovery can change details as well as sharpen them.

From quote to result.
