Native-audio video models can generate picture and sound together, but generated ambience, spoken dialogue, reference audio and exact soundtrack reuse are different requirements. Choose the operation around the sound you need to control, not just whether its product page says “audio.”
Veo 3.1, Kling 3 and WAN 3 provide useful examples of those differences. This guide combines published model documentation with the Raywake operations checked on 19 October 2026.
Compare sound requirements before models
| Requirement | What you need to verify |
|---|---|
| Ambient sound and effects | Generated-audio support and an appropriate sound description |
| A spoken sentence | Supported language, wording, pronunciation and speaker behavior |
| A reference recording | An actual audio-input field, not only an audio-output switch |
| An exact approved soundtrack | A workflow that retains the recording rather than merely generating similar sound |
| A recurring voice | Documented voice or speaker controls and suitable source permissions |
| A silent delivery | A supported mute option or a separate editing step |
A model can support one row without satisfying all the others. Write the required row into the brief before choosing a duration or paying for a run.
Veo 3.1: native sound with mode-specific limits
Google documents Veo 3.1 as producing video with native audio and offering several image-guided modes. Duration, resolution and reference rules depend on the selected mode. For example, the Gemini API documentation ties some higher-resolution and reference-based configurations to eight-second output.
Do not generalize those controls across every host or Veo variant. A direct Google operation and a third-party operation can have different exposed settings. Source: Google's Veo documentation.
At the publication check, Veo 3.1 generation was unavailable on Raywake. The comparison remains useful for selecting capabilities, but the available Raywake alternatives below are the relevant routes for a current run.
Kling 3: distinguish audio-enabled modes from Turbo
The reviewed non-Turbo Kling 3 Standard and Pro operations expose generate_audio. Their documentation specifies Chinese and English voice output and says other languages are translated to English. Do not promise exact Turkish speech from those operations based only on a Turkish prompt.
The reviewed Turbo image-to-video operations do not expose the same audio switch. That is a contract difference, not permission to assume equivalent behavior with a field silently omitted.

WAN: sound output and reference audio are separate
WAN 3 image-to-video exposes an audio-output control. Its reference-to-video operation additionally accepts audio files. Raywake's WAN 3 Prime reference operation also exposes audio references, with its own limits and field names.
A reference can provide context or timing, but it should not be treated as a contractual promise to reproduce every word or waveform exactly. If an approved narration must remain unchanged, preserve that recording in the final editing workflow and choose compatible picture and lip-sync steps.

A two-part acceptance check
Review picture and sound separately, then together. For picture, check subject identity, movement, framing and continuity. For sound, check every spoken word, speaker changes, unwanted music, background noise and the timing of effects.
Finally, review synchronization. A correct sentence with visibly mistimed mouth movement may still fail the brief. Likewise, an attractive scene with an invented brand pronunciation is not ready to publish.
For a short product clip, begin with one action, one camera move and one sound intention. Adding music, dialogue, a crowd and several scene changes makes the first failure harder to diagnose.
Pricing the intended sound workflow
Quote the exact operation, duration, resolution and audio settings in Raywake. Do not assume that an audio toggle is free or separately charged across every family. Reference inputs can also change pricing or accepted settings.
The available routes checked for this guide include Kling 3 Standard, WAN 3 and WAN 3 Prime Reference. Each uses the same Raywake account balance, while each operation has its own quote.
Common questions
Can “native audio” replace a voiceover workflow?
Sometimes it can satisfy a brief, but exact scripts and approved voices need their own acceptance checks. Do not treat the label as a guarantee.
Should I send the full music track as a reference?
Use only the permitted and useful segment, within the endpoint's limits. Keep rights and the intended role of the recording clear.
Can I compare audio-enabled and silent clips on price alone?
Only if they satisfy the same delivery requirement. Otherwise you are comparing different production tasks.
